Community Art At Cleeve Park School

 About

Welcome to Artlab's informal and fun art sessions - aimed at all abilities and perfect for getting in touch with your creative self!  Ideal for the complete novice as well as experienced artists.

My aim is to prove that anyone can enjoy art and that it is for everyone.  I will show you how to create amazing work using exciting and unique techniques and without the need to draw.  Take a look at the Gallery pages to see what our members have achieved.

The sessions are tutored, organic and freeflowing and may include powerpoint presentations or artist studies, with the main emphasis on enjoyment and creating in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Unlike other art groups we do not work in a limited or prescribed medium. We experiment with a huge variety of materials and processes including painting, drawing, textile art, collage, printing, mixed media, ceramics and sculpture.  Experimental art is very much encouraged!  So let's engage that creative right side of the brain and send that logical left side packing!

Materials are mostly included within the cost of the session, although sometimes you may be required to bring some basic materials with you.  For some projects such as lino printing you may need additional materials which I am happy to supply at a minimal cost, or you are welcome to bring your own.

As a group we have enjoyed visits to the Turner Gallery and Pie Factory in Margate, London galleries, painting en plein air at Hall Place and Rochester, and have exhibited publicly in several locations, including most recently Crossness Pumping Station.   We look forward to enjoying  more trips and to incorporate future events such as visiting artist talks and workshops.

Sessions are from 6.30pm - 9pm in Art Room E3 at Cleeve Park School, Bexley Lane, Sidcup, DA14 4JN and will run during term times only.  Lots of free parking on site.   Cost £12.

Free tea, coffee and biccies available throughout the evening.
